2027: AA presidential candidate vows to end poverty, revive economy

The presidential candidate of the Action Alliance, Adekunle Omoaje, has pledged to revive Nigeria’s economy, end poverty and create jobs if elected.

He made the promises on Saturday while flagging off his presidential campaign at Babanla Agate Ward, his home ward in Ede, Osun State, according to a statement issued in Kaduna.

The campaign flag-off was preceded by special prayers conducted by Islamic scholars, Christian clerics and traditionalists.

According to the statement, politicians, business leaders, unionists, artisans and traders from different parts of the country attended the ceremony. It was presided over by AA leaders, including the party’s Osun State chairman, Kazeem Araoye.

Addressing supporters, Omoaje said his administration would introduce policies to address the country’s economic challenges, with emphasis on employment generation, poverty reduction and the fight against corruption.

“My agenda for Nigeria covers all sectors of the economy. I am determined to end the economic crisis currently ravaging the nation,” he said.

He also promised to ensure that Nigerian youths were gainfully employed.

On security, Omoaje pledged to confront insecurity and create an environment where Nigerians could live and travel without fear.

He said his administration would reduce the number of ministers and political appointees, and appoint Presidential Liaison Officers in all 774 local government areas to strengthen the Federal Government’s presence at the grassroots.

The candidate also proposed that all roads in the country be classified as federal roads, saying the measure would address disparities in infrastructure development.

Omoaje said the party would hold larger campaign rallies across the six geopolitical zones and Abuja as part of efforts to mobilise support for the 2027 election.

He called on Nigerians to support his presidential ambition and expressed optimism that he would win the election.
