2027: Yobe APC gov candidate pledges to build on Buni’s achievements

‎The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe State, Baba Wali, has pledged to sustain and build on the achievements of Governor Mai Buni if elected as governor in the 2027 governorship election.

‎Wali made the pledge on Saturday when he paid a visit to the Gudi Emirate in Fika Local Government Area of the state, as part of his consultations with traditional rulers and stakeholders ahead of the election.

‎The APC candidate said his experience working under the Buni administration had given him a good understanding of the policies and programmes of the present government, promising to ensure continuity if elected.

‎Wali expressed gratitude to Buni for allowing him to serve in his administration for seven years, describing the experience as one for which he would remain grateful.

‎“I will be forever grateful to the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, for allowing me to work in his administration for seven years.

‎”If I win the election, my administration will continue from where Buni stopped. We will continue with the good works of the present administration and build on the achievements recorded so far for the benefit of the people of Yobe State,” he assured.

‎The APC candidate also appreciated the former governor of the state and current Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, for supporting him during his time in government.

‎Wali said Geidam played an important role in his career while he served under his administration, adding that he remained grateful for the support and opportunity he received.

‎Speaking on the purpose of his visit to the Gudi Emirate, the governorship candidate said he was at the palace to seek the support and prayers of the Emir, Ismaila Gadaka, and the people of the emirate ahead of the 2027 election.

‎He also appealed to the traditional institution to support the APC and its candidates at the state and national levels, including President Bola Tinubu.

‎“We are urging the Emirate of Bade to support us and all the APC candidates,” Wali said.
‎‎
‎Wali said his experience in government had exposed him to the challenges facing the state and equipped him with the knowledge required to provide effective leadership and consolidate on the gains of the current administration.

‎The monarch, in his remarks, assured the APC candidate of his support, saying the emirate would back candidates whose emergence would contribute to the development and overall well-being of the people of the state.
‎‎
‎The monarch urged political leaders to prioritise the interests of the people and ensure that their policies and programmes translated into meaningful development across the state.‎
