Barcelona move to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal – Report

Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus on a permanent transfer.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, announced the development in an update on his X handle on Sunday.

Romano said the Catalan club will pay a €10m package plus add-ons for the 29-year-old forward.

He added that Jesus was scheduled to travel to Spain after receiving Arsenal’s authorisation.

Romano wrote, “Gabriel Jesus and Barcelona, deal until June 2028 plus option and package over €10m to Arsenal.

“The agreement also includes an option to extend for extra year, until 2029.

“Gabriel immediately said yes to Barcelona, seen by the Brazilian as a dream opportunity.

“Arsenal authorised his travel on Monday.”

The deal comes as a late-window solution for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, who has sought a centre-forward option following the departure of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, who left for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain in August 2026.

The club had pursued Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez but was unable to secure the Argentine due to the Spanish club’s reluctance to sell.

If the deal goes through, Jesus will bring Premier League experience and a proven goalscoring record from his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and subsequent years at Arsenal.
